Tinos Island
How can you live just 3 km from a port that is bustling with people every season and enjoy your holidays with peace and discretion? If you’re wondering, it’s because you haven’t visited us yet.
Crafted with stone, sun, and passion, Emerald was built to encapsulate the Tinos’ soul and the Cyclades’ spirit. Unpretentiously, authentically, and thoroughly. Because Human -whether a resident or a visitor- is who gives true value in everything. And this special island is deservedly so beloved.
Step by step
One island, a thousand images
A walk to the sea will lead you to Agios Fokas, one of the most extensive beaches in Tinos. Its crystal clear shallow waters, golden sand, and sense of comfort make it irresistible (and yes, we know that “crystal clear shallow waters” is an excuse for daydreaming—especially if you have a picture).
If walking or running seem more appealing than swimming, the coastal path lends itself to both. In fact, where it ends, at the southern end of the beach, is the archaeological site of the prehistoric acropolis of Vryokastro or Vrekastro. A few steps can take you back 5 millennia (although the hill has not been systematically excavated).
Finally, if you’re in the mood for many more steps, Tinos’ hiking network is almost 150 kilometers – and every meter of it is unique.

Driving around
Tinos is an island you will adore. It is also a place where adoration of the divine is omnipresent. The Virgin Mary in Chora may attract thousands of visitors, but there are dozens of other churches and monasteries, little gems of architecture, art, and tradition.
Among them is the Holy Trinity – also known as Gyrla (Twirl, from the curve taken by the torrent that runs by it). In Panormos – at the other end of the island – is the monastery of Kyra (Lady) Xeni, with its unique view and interesting history of how and by whom it was built. But the Catholic Church also has a presence on the island – thanks to the Franciscans, Jesuits, and the Ursulines – while the Monastery of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Exomvourgo is considered one of the largest Catholic pilgrimages in the country.
As for the villages of Tinos, their names may intrigue you, but their character will undoubtedly win you over for good: The lush green Kardiani with its irresistible view, Aetofolia (Eagle’s Nest) with its tradition in ceramics and the Museum of Traditional Ceramics, Volax – all dressed in granite, the Pyrgos (Tower) of the iconic sculptor Giannoulis Halepas.

Oh, the sea!
Almost all the beaches of Tinos are accessible by land – and each one has something special to offer. Kolimvithra (the baptismal font in Greek) has two sides – the Small, ideal for families, and the Big, excellent for water sports. Kionia, where you almost think it’s normal for Poseidon and Amphitrite to come out of the sea to reach the ancient temple dedicated to them. Vathi (Deep) with the quarries that reach the sea and the chapel of Agios Charalambos, patron saint of marble workers. Livadia (Meadows) with its wild beauty, where the north winds and the granite meet with great intensity. The Agia Thalassa (Saint Sea) with the chapel of Agios Nikolaos Thalassinos being almost within the water.
Again, if you don’t want to miss a single aspect of Tinos’ contrasting coastline, a sea tour or cruise around the island is the way to go. The scenery will win you over whether you choose a short or full-day getaway.
